As the largest river in the Northwest, the Columbia has been a popular spot for centuries. Once used as a transportation route for fur traders, the river traces the border between Washington and Oregon before emptying into the Pacific Ocean. These days, the Columbia is home to what some would consider the best tasting salmon in the world. Spring Chinook salmon, or Springers, are a tasty prize to land, whereas fall brings out the massive King salmon in the Columbia. Any way you slice it, there’s something for everyone and the Columbia is not to be missed by any angler!
